The Story Behind Our Unique Name

When Castle Bespoke Flooring was first formed, we would often be asked to repeat our name.  “What was that?” they’d say… “Castle WHAT?”

So, after being asked again the other day about the origins of our name, it seemed like a great chance to share the story!!

The name Castle Bespoke is a reflection of our history, our products, and our commitment to the future.

The Castle part of the name was somewhat a natural to come up with.  Most of our custom plank flooring is sourced and milled in Europe (the rest is milled in the USA).  While driving between lumber mills, you can often see the majestic castles up on a hill, looking over the surrounding European countryside.  These castles are constructed using a selection of the finest natural products, they stand out above every other structure around, and they were built to outlive the men and women who designed and built them.  The same can be said about our engineered plank flooring.  Our planks are constructed using only the very finest wood products.  Then they are engineered together into the worlds finest plank flooring that is designed and built to last through the ages.

The second word of our name is “Bespoke”.  This word means simply: “made for a particular customer or user”.  Our products are truly designed with you in mind.  We start with an unfinished RAW plank, that is designed to provide all the benefits of a solid plank, and also the stability of an engineered plank.  Like we say, with Castle Bespoke there really is no longer any need to use a solid plank floor.  Next, we go on a “Color Journey” with you.  Our artists will work with you or your designer to come up with a truly unique hand-oiled finish for your floor.  Just send us photos or show us samples of ideas you have, and our team will provide custom hand-finished samples for your selection.  Even our factory pre-finished floors are designed and made with your specific needs in mind.

I suppose we could have called our company “Timeless quality, rich in heritage, wood plank floors, made particularly for your specific needs and tastes”, but we liked how “Castle Bespoke” rolled off the tongue, and was easy to remember 😊
